Kurt Busch
Busch, the 2004 Sprint Cup champion, won two races in 2011 to give him 24 victories in his 11-year career.
Busch made his Sprint Cup debut in 2000 after running the 1999 season in the NASCAR Truck Series for Roush Fenway Racing.
Busch finished 27th in points in his first full season in 2001 and then had his breakout season a year later, winning four races races for Roush and finishing third in points. He won four more races in 2003, including a sweep of the Bristol races.
In 2004, Busch reached the pinnacle of stock-car racing, winning the Sprint Cup championship in the inaugural Chase For The Sprint Cup. Busch was seventh in the standings to start the Chase, but vaulted to the top after winning the opening Chase race at New Hampshire. He took the points lead after the second Chase race and never relinquished, winning the title by eight points over Jimmie Johnson and by 16 over Jeff Gordon. Busch scored six top-five and nine top-10 finishes in the Chase and finished the season with three wins, 10 top-five and 21 top-10 finishes.
Busch won three more races and made the Chase again in 2005, but stunned the NASCAR world by announcing that he had signed a contract to join Penske Racing in 2007. Roush later agreed to let Busch out of his contract at the end of the 2005 season and later, after Busch was arrested by police in Arizona for a traffic violation and resisting arrest, was suspended for the final two races of 2005.
Busch joined Penske in 2006 and won one race but missed the Chase. He has won nine races for Penske over the past five years and made the Chase in four of the past five years.
