David Gilliland

The highlight of 2011 for David Gilliland came in NASCAR’s biggest race when he finished third in the season-opening Daytona 500. It was Gilliland’s third career top-five finish.

Gilliland ran all 36 races for Front Row Motorsports in 2011, finishing 30th in the final standings. His only other top-10 finish was ninth at Talladega in April. He will return to the team in 2012.

Gilliland has made 186 career Cup starts for a variety of teams. His best seasons came in 2007-08, when he finished 28th and 27th in points for Robert Yates Racing. He scored two top-five and four top-10 finishes in two seasons for the team and won the pole for the 2007 Daytona 500.

Gilliland joined Front Row in 2010 after driving for a variety of teams in 2009.

The highlight of Gilliland’s NASCAR career came in 2006 when he won the Nationwide Series race at Kentucky Speedway in an unsponsored car for car owner Clay Andrews.
